We are a community of investors committed to turning capital into a tool for racial justice by backing ventures led by Black, Indigenous, and other entrepreneurs of color. We believe those closest to the problems are closest to the solutions, and we focus our investments on BIPOC-led businesses building power in their communities, expanding access to opportunity, and rewriting who gets to shape our shared future. Together, we aim to grow not only companies, but also ownership, wealth, and decision-making in communities that have been systematically excluded from traditional finance. This work is urgent because the racial wealth gap is not closing on its own—capital markets have helped create it, and now they must help repair it. BIPOC founders are dramatically underfunded despite consistently strong ideas, resilience, and community insight. By channeling patient, values-aligned capital to these leaders, we can unlock new jobs, community assets, and culturally grounded solutions in areas like health, education, climate, and local infrastructure. Our goal is to prove, with real-world outcomes, that investing in BIPOC-led ventures is not charity—it is smart, transformative investing that builds a more just and prosperous economy for everyone.

    African Early-StageFeatured

    African Early-Stage

Less than 2% of global venture capital flows into Africa, leaving many high-potential founders underfunded at the earliest stages. This group focuses on providing patient pre-seed and seed capital to exceptional African entrepreneurs building the next generation of businesses across the continent. We back founders with deep local insight, strong execution ability, and domain expertise—supporting them hands-on through early growth with strategic guidance and long-term partnership. Our approach emphasizes capital efficiency, strong unit economics, and a clear path to sustainability, recognizing the realities of African venture markets. While sector-agnostic, we prioritize foundational industries such as energy, agriculture, healthcare, logistics, and financial infrastructure—especially businesses uniquely positioned to serve large and growing middle- and low-income populations.

    Who starts a CataCap group?

Rally a community around the cause you care about.

Most groups are led by a small team of 2 or more people with complementary strengths — one side rallies donor-investors, the other brings the deal flow.

    The Connector

    Brings the community

Well-connected in their network. Rallies fellow donor-investors, DAF holders, alumni, or peers around a shared mission and gets them activated.

    The Curator

    Brings the deal flow

Has existing pipeline and sector expertise. Sources and vets high-impact ventures so the group is backing opportunities they can trust.

Don't have both? That's normal. Many leaders start with one side and add a co-leader along the way.

    Two simple ways groups invest

    Option 1

    Curated opportunities, member's choice

The group regularly shares investment opportunities they've curated. Members get a push notification, take a look, and choose to invest if it resonates — no pressure, no commitment.

    Easiest

    Option 2

    Multi-Donor Fund

Members contribute to a Multi-Donor Fund hosted on CataCap — no entity, no fund admin, no back office. You pick the governance, we handle everything else.

See how it works, real examples, and how to launch yours.

Follow the lead of industry experts

Many group leaders are sector experts sourcing and vetting the best opportunities in their field. Members get to follow their lead — backing high-impact ventures they might never have found on their own.
