    About Finless Foods

Finless wants to create a future for seafood where the ocean thrives. They work toward this every day by creating delicious, alternative seafood products that help you satisfy your cravings without bait or hook. Growing interest in clean, high-quality protein continues to boost demand for seafood. However, more than one-third of the world's fish stocks are overfished. While aquaculture can be used for some fish stocks, such as salmon and catfish, tuna cannot be farmed at scale to meet demand and continues to face downward pressure on its population.

Finless Foods has developed sustainable technology to produce premium Pacific bluefin tuna sashimi through a cell-cultured process, eliminating the need to catch a fish, hence, "Fin-less." Produced in a clean, controlled food production facility, the cell-cultured tuna sashimi is made with non-GMO bluefin tuna cells and plant-based ingredients, containing no mercury, microplastics, or antibiotics. The technology employs a climate-friendly process that can utilize renewable energy and recycled water. It does not depend on oceans or fisheries, helps reduce GHG emissions, and generates minimal water waste that can be processed, cleaned, and recycled. The production output is consistent, strengthening our food security and supply chain resilience.

Funded in 2017, the company is currently seeking FDA approval for its cell-cultured bluefin tuna. The company is currently raising funding in convertible notes to (1) complete the FDA review process and (2) establish commercial business partnerships. The FDA approval marks a significant value inflection point for Finless Foods, catalyzing the commercialization of its cell-cultured bluefin tuna through strategic partnerships with global food companies.
